Rites of the Dark Goddess: Honouring Kali

A Sacred Evening of Sound, Ceremony & Transformation

Ceremony

DATE: Saturday 6th December 2025 - 3 till 6pm

LOCATION: The Hive, Ivy Lane, Penzance, TR184TP

PRICE: £30/ £25 concession

As we approach the darkest time of the year, when the veil between endings and beginnings grows thin, we gather to honour the Dark Goddess, Kali Ma — She who reveals light through shadow, and liberation through surrender.

In these times of planetary and personal upheaval, she is the liberating power of absolute love, and calls to remember that darkness is the fertile womb of transformation and creativity.

Join Sangita Lakhanpal in a magical portal of myth, mantra, and ceremony — a safe and gentle initiation into the wisdom of the Dark Goddess.

Part One — The Myth of Kali: Darkness to Light

We begin by entering the mythic story and symbolism of Kali, exploring her relevance in our turbulent modern world. Through reflection and storytelling, we uncover how her presence teaches us to alchemise fear into courage, resistance into surrender, and darkness into radiant awareness.

Part Two — The Sound of Transformation

We then attune to Kali’s sacred frequency through her ancient seed mantra:
Sangita will share its meaning, mythic origin, guiding participants to embody the sound through chanting, and singing.

Part Three — Mugwort Elixir & Sound Ceremony

We close with a ceremonial tea of Mugwort, a wild plant long revered in European folklore for dreamwork and intuitive vision. As its subtle medicine opens the inner senses, it supports radical rest and surrender — receiving a Sound Bath as Sangita sings Kali’s 108 sacred names woven through the tones of gongs and singing bowls.

This final act is a deep surrender to Kali — the moment of integration and renewal.

A Safe & Sacred Space

This ceremony is held within a container of reverence, beauty, and protection — a sanctuary for those called to explore the mysteries of the Dark Goddess.

Mugwort tea will be served ceremonially — please inform us if you are pregnant or on medication.
