ABOUT
"A unique and evocative form of artistry which gives voice to timeless wisdoms”
Nicolas Brown - BAFTA and Emmy award winning documentary film director
Sangita Lakhanpal is a “singing yogini,” a British-born artist and teacher rooted in the spiritual wisdoms of her Indian heritage.
Sangita’s work draws from Vedic mythology, breathing new life into ancient stories which still sing to these times.
Expect a blend of mantra singing, romantic poetry, and electronic music; a sound tapestry which she offers up in devotion to the Great Mother.
Sangita has released two albums - Namo, inspired by her river pilgrimage along the Narmada, and The Durga Opera, a bold devotional retelling of the Devi Mahatmya.
Her forthcoming album, The Ten Faces of Kali, a body of work supported by the Arts Council England, continues this journey of musical storytelling, channeling the fierce and beautiful mythic Goddesses of the Mahavidyas.
Across all her offerings, Sangita creates spaces of remembrance, of source, and of our sacred connection to nature.

Her journey began as a human rights lawyer, before a profound shift led her to the path of Tantric Yoga.
Her life now flows between the banks of the Narmada and the ancient sites of Cornwall.
Her body of work and teaching carry the sounds which have emerged from her immersion in mythic culture and the wilds of nature.
