LIVE

“Sangita’s  artistry transports you into the ecstatically spiritual in a way that is sensuously embodied... To catch Sangita live is to take a musical journey through the old stories, enlivened with  innovative soundscapes, inspired by rave culture and Tantric philosophy"

Lucia Deremic, creator of the Pommegranate Parlour, Boomtown festival, DJ and music producer

Sangita Lakhanpal presents ‘THE TEN FACES OF KALI,’ a new live music show debuting her sensuous, yet powerful and compelling voice on the festival stage.

Sangita weaves Sanskrit mantras and English spoken word into Andy Guthrie’s (Banco De Gaia) hypnotic electronica, and the rich harmonies of Indian acoustic instrumentation.

A lush meeting place of  music and classical tantric philosophy; and a time where the audience can combine the deep transcendent experiences of both.

"A wonderful range of vocal expression"

Kuljit Bhamra MBE music producer, composer.

THE TEN FACES OF KALI is more than voice and music; moving visual works form the next dimension of the experience.

Hypnotic geometric yantras, born from the same mythic and spiritual history (and used for millennia for deep relaxation) are tastefully brought alive with a dynamic LED video wall and twinned with a lighting design from Matthew Button (Chemical Brothers).

A musical journey takes you to meet all ten mythic goddesses of the Mahavidya; a mythic world of female power.

Some of these goddesses are beautiful, some fierce, some wild and some terrible; each offering a great mythic wisdom to the world of humans.
THE TEN FACES OF KALI is more that sum of its parts. A beautiful  juxtaposition of eastern and western, of ancient and modern.

This show is not only relevant and accessible to generations of music lovers, but the experience has been formed to work on deeper levels to leave a lasting imprint.

The show has been specifically designed for the festival stage, and forms the live compliment to Sangita’s upcoming new album of the same name:THE TEN FACES OF KALI.

THE TEN FACES OF KALI is a ‘must hear, must see’.
