LOCATION: Mantra Valley, Rimbick, Himalayas. India

PRICE: Full price is £1350 - Early Bird price is £1250

A Pilgrimage to the Sacred Feminine :

Step into a 10-day retreat held in the stillness of the Himalayas—a journey where Tantric practice meets wild nature. Rooted in the traditions of Vajrayoginī and Tārā, this pilgrimage invites you into direct experience: through breath, voice, movement, and presence.

Set in the forested hills above Rimbick, near a 108-year-old Buddhist monastery, this retreat is both a spiritual immersion and a return to embodied vitality. The monastery stands as a living link to an unbroken Tantric lineage—offering us a rare space where ancient wisdom is still quietly practiced today.

The Sacred Ground of Rimbick

Our base is Rimbick, a peaceful Himalayan mountain village bordering Singalila National Park ( Rainforest) , with sweeping views of the Kanchenjunga range and neighbouring Sikkim.

This area is known for its spiritual depth and natural beauty:

  • A spiritual corridor where Buddhist and Shaivite energies coexist
  • Exceptional stargazing on clear nights—pure skies, no light pollution
  • A birdwatching paradise with over 120 species including the Himalayan monal, sunbirds, and the elusive satyr tragopan
  • Optional guided treks to ancient meditation caves and hidden temples—many associated with Shiva and Durga
  • Surrounded by forest, silence, and sacred ground—ideal for deep retreat

Living Lineages | Teachings with the Monks

As part of the retreat, we’ll be joined by two local monks from the 108-year-old monastery for an afternoon of shared practice and teaching.

They will offer:
  • Teachings on Tārā & Vajrayoginī
  • Tibetan Yoga (Trulkhor) and breath-based movement
  • Introduction to mantra and mudrā as daily spiritual tools
  • Insights into the feminine principles in Vajrayāna Buddhism

This is a rare chance to sit with lineage holders in a simple, personal setting—receiving oral transmission in a spirit of mutual respect and devotion.

Daily Rhythm | Devotion in Motion

Each day flows between sacred practice, mountain walks, and nourishing silence. With the elements as our guides, we explore the body as a temple and the voice as a channel for presence.

Core Practices Include:
  • Tantric Yoga & Meditation from the Shakti Tantra tradition
  • Shakti Tantra Dance: an embodied blend of breath, mantra, and free movement
  • Sacred Voicework: devotional singing, mantra, and sound healing
  • Tantric Breathwork for energy awakening and nervous system healing
  • Elemental Rituals honouring earth, fire, air, and space
  • Yoga Nidrā & Vipassanā-inspired stillness
  • Ecstatic Dance Ceremony & Live Sound Journey with ambient drones and devotional vocals
  • Afternoon Teachings with monks on Vajrayoginī, Tārā, and Buddhist practice

Who Is This For?

This is a retreat for all sincere seekers—whether you're new to Tantra and Buddhism or have years of experience. No background is required, only an openness to walk, feel, chant, and be present with yourself.

An Invitation to Remember

Let this pilgrimage be a return to the intelligence of your body, the medicine of your voice, and the wild stillness of the Earth.

The mountains hold us.
The monastery blesses us.
And the feminine—she moves through it all.

Mantra Valley

Mantra Valley rests deep within the Himalayan mountain forests of Singalila National Park, near Rimbick, Darjeeling. Nestled in a quiet farming village besides a beautiful 108-year-old Buddhist Monastery offering a peaceful, soulful retreat experience.

Surrounded by ancient forests and open sky, the valley opens onto vast views of Sikkim and the full sweep of the Kanchenjunga range, stretching endlessly across the horizon.

Trek routes begin right at your doorstep, winding through untamed forests, alpine meadows, and hidden ridgelines, offering a chance to explore less-trodden paths and experience the wild beauty of this remote landscape. Daily life in the village moves with quiet rhythm, grounded in nature's pace.

Here, the heart of the Himalayas is also felt in the cuisine — a rich blend of Tibetan, Nepali, and Indian flavors. Simple, hearty dishes made with local organic, farm-to-table ingredients offer a taste of tradition.

Your Facilitators

Sangita Lakhanpal

Sangita Lakhanpal is a British-born artist and singing yogini rooted in Tantric philosophy, where the Earth is sacred, the body is wisdom, and the divine lives in all things. Drawing from her Indian ancestry and early work as a human rights lawyer and yoga teacher in prisons, she weaves mantra, myth, and movement into pathways of reconnection with nature and self.

Her journey deepened through a pilgrimage along the River Narmada, where spirituality and ecology became inseparable. Now living in sacred landscapes, Sangita offers voice-led rituals and sung Sanskrit mantras that open space for transformation. This Himalayan pilgrimage is a return to source — an invitation to walk, sing, and remember the sacred feminine through the wild presence of goddesses like Vajrayogini and Tara.

Lucid Mantra / Pavan

Lucid Mantra is the musical expression of Pavan — a psychedelic trance artist since 2006 who has played major festivals across the globe.

Alongside his high-energy trance sets, he began exploring the depths of ambient, mantra-infused soundscapes, blending sitar, ecstatic rhythms, shamanic chants, and Tibetan monastic tones.

His work bridges the electronic and the ancestral, reawakening ancient traditions through modern sonic rituals, and offering immersive journeys across dancefloors and deep inner spaces alike.

Now based in the northeastern Himalayas, Pavan has founded Mantra Valley — an artist retreat nestled in the forest, near a century-old monastery. It is a sacred space for musicians, seekers, and practitioners to create, connect, and remember. Through Lucid Mantra, he continues to honour sound as a tool of transformation

Lama Kunsang - Samten Monastery

Lama Kunsang is a native of the region and a devoted custodian of Samten Monastery. He completed the full 17-year monastic scholastic training (Shedra) at Mindrolling Monastery in Dehradun, graduating in 2007.

Following his studies, he volunteered across India—serving in Dharamshala and Bodhgaya, and completing a permaculture course that deepened his commitment to sustainable living.

Since 2010, Lama Kunsang has been entrusted by the local community to care for Samten Monastery. Under his guidance, the monastery has been restored twice following major earthquakes and continues to flourish as a spiritual and cultural sanctuary. This work is not just his responsibility—it is his life’s project.
